"At last, a new entry in the very popular Book series. From ~shadowsoftheworld, who is new to D.A. ^{[about 60 pageviews atm]} but has the goods with many outstanding scans, so she is very welcome to the Legion! It is great to see someone new at the community jump right into supporting everyone else at D.A. you all owe her your thanks.

"I have been working on digital compositing for quite a long time (some of my work is here on DA, but my main website is at [link] ). Over the years I have amassed a large library of images reflecting my tastes and interests. The images in this package are of European and Asian book covers dating mostly from the nineteenth century. If you are interested in the technical details, here is My Recipe for Stock:
Film has grain. Reality has texture.
This is why all the images I use in my work are obtained not with a camera but by directly scanning real objects. A scanner acts as a low-magnification microscope, making it possible to capture a wealth of detail normally invisible to the naked eye which greatly enhances the interest of even the most mundane objects.

I hope you find these images useful. Please let me know what you make of them. I am sure you will use them in ways that I could never have imagined, and that is why I am really excited about making them available to you."
