Produce a thicker quality with the liquid- and a fair bit darker color.
It's a lovely art piece, and my comment is only for the sake of realism- though.. hrmm.. considering the medium most people will be using for this is ink and paper- it's wonderfully done. Simple message, wonderfully texture and backround.. nice. ^_^

I dont know... maybe its just me, but you would be hard pressed to convince me that the blood I see there is real.

This is not fake blood, it is real bull blood. However, when stored for a few days as it was, the blood divides and resorts itself into layers. Clogging occurs, and even after stiirring it is difficult to recover the fresh look of well mixed and oxygenated blood due to the darker part of the blood locked into semi-solid lumps. Does not get much more realistic then real. However I guess it is easily mistaken for fake stuff.

[laughs] Well I assure you it is real. Refrigeration alters the consistency greatly as the blood sits. Imperfect form, but I had no time to work with it when I got it fresh, and I was not about to let it sit out for days in room temperature. The sediment like particles and general thinness of the blood are natural effects of how it was stored.

Forgive me- I've only experience with Human 'hemo.
There is a slight difference, I've been told depending on the creature- how the blood is formed..
This seems wonderful for the piece though. Do not mind my realism-gripes, the fluid here allows for a light, onimous tone added to it all.
I'd say cute, but I imagine that'd be weird.

No problem, just thought I'd point out that it was real... I'm sure my storage method of keeping the blood in a large central countertenor made the sediment effect worse, gallons resting in a single vessel was probably not the ideal way to house it.
